Frequently Asked Questions

Where is your academic program located?

Kingdom Academy is hosted at LifeConnection Church in Independence - 3883 Blue Ridge Blvd, Independence, MO 64052

Can I visit the Academy's facility?

We warmly welcome visitors to tour our facility. If you would like to schedule a tour and see our program in action, please contact us to schedule a visit. We look forward to showing you the enriching environment we have created for our students.

What are the tuition fees for the year?

At Kingdom Academy, we understand the importance of affordable education. For detailed information about tuition fees for each semester, visit our Academic Page

What responsibilities do parents have? Are there required volunteer hours?

This is a drop off program and parents do not need to be present, or volunteer during the school day. Parents are responsible for using their discretion to assign and oversee their child's work when not at Kingdom Academy, as well as keep records as required by law.

Parent staff do play a role in our school day. These employees are compensated for their time and receive discounted tuition.

Please complete an application if you are interested in employment with Kingdom Academy.

How do we teach and what do we value?

We believe that education is for the whole child, not just the mind. All children are created in the image of God and are valuable. We model our instruction on a variety of research-based methods, but pull heavily from Charlotte Mason Methodologies. We believe that children learn through good habits, great books, and hands-on learning. We value hard work, perseverance, honesty, inquisitiveness and integrity and believe that these are all character traits that can be instilled in children through their schooling.

What will our homeschool week look like?

You’re still the primary educator, so you have control of what your days at home look like! Students will attend Kingdom Academy on Monday and Wednesday from 9am-2pm.

For K-4th Grade Students, Kingdom will send home an optional activity for Tuesdays (or, if you’re looking for enrichment options, consider Kingdom Academy Enrichment located in Oak Grove). Students will bring home a packet of additional work for two more school days at home each week. You, as the parent, can complete this work at your discretion, based on the needs of your student! Additional activities like logging reading minutes, playing a math game, or practicing math facts may be required by individual classroom teachers, which will be communicated directly with families.

For 5th-8th Grade Students, there is required work in each subject that must be completed before attending each class. These assignments will be clearly communicated and students will partner with teachers to build executive functioning skills and manage and organize assignments.

What safety measures do you implement?

We conduct background checks on all teachers and staff. Our doors are locked other than arrival and dismissal and on days/times we have class parties or performances.  We also provide an armed security officer on site throughout the day.

What does a day at Kingdom Academy Academic look like?

Students arrive between 8:45-9am on Mondays and Wednesdays and will dismiss 2:00pm. PreK and K students complete activities in self-contained classrooms. First grade- Eighth grade students rotate between two primary teachers. All students will have a 30 minute lunch period and a 30 minute recess.
