2025-2026 Class Descriptions

Pre-K & Kindergarten Students

Students in these classes receive instruction from a self-contained teacher throughout the school day. No additional curriculum purchase is required by families.

Pre-Kindergarten

Utilizing My Father’s World curriculum, children will gain academic-readiness skills with the alphabet and numbers, enjoy read-aloud times, develop fine and large motor skills, and increase in cognitive skills.  Most importantly, children learn God's truth and are encouraged to live it in their lives. Simple activities that families can utilize at home will be sent home weekly and can be used at the family’s discretion.

PreK students must be at least 4 years old by August 1st to enroll.  Students who are not yet ready for Kindergarten may utilize our PreKindergarten program two years in a row.

Kindergarten

Utilizing My Father’s World curriculum, students will engage in Bible, reading and language arts, math, science, art and music. Simple activities that families can utilize at home will be sent home weekly and can be used at the family’s discretion.

1st through 4th Grade Students

Students in these classes will rotate between two teachers. Work packets will be sent home weekly for Language Arts and Math. No additional curriculum purchase is required by families.

Language Arts

At Kingdom Academy, we understand that each child’s development is unique and not all children meet academic and developmental goals at the same rate. First, Second, and Third grade students will be placed in leveled reading classes based on an in-person assessment. Assessments appointments will be scheduled for July.

Beginning (Level A) and Intermediate (Level B) readers will utilize All About Reading, a research-based multisensory curriculum. Established (Level C) readers will utilize Total Language Plus book studies to continue to grow in their confidence as well as gain additional Language Arts skills. Language Arts work will be sent home each week and students will need to complete this work in order to meet academic milestones.

Fourth Grade Students will utilize the Good and Beautiful curriculum and begin to develop more independent work skills. Language Arts work will be sent home weekly and be required in order to meet academic milestones.

Math, Science, and Social Studies

Students in first through fourth grades complete science, social studies, and math with their same-grade peers. Classrooms present materials in a variety of modes and utilize cooperative learning, games, and individual work to master each topic. Math work packets will be sent home each week, and will utilize Math Mammoth curriculum, as well as suggestions for math games and activities to increase skills. Social studies will utilize curriculum from Notgrass. Science will utilize curriculum from Good and Beautiful, and will cover a variety of life and physical science topics. Occasional “extras” will be sent home for Social Studies and Science, though these activities will typically be optional and opting out will not negatively impact your student’s participation during their Kingdom Academy Academic days.

Not sure if your first grader is ready? Use this simple screening tool to see if first grade is the right fit.

5th through 8th Grade Students

Students in these classes will rotate between two classroom teachers. Classrooms will engage in a variety of learning styles. Activities may include, but are not limited to, presentations, games, labs, discussions, and independent work. Living books, oral narration, and a wide variety of sources will also be utilized as students begin to develop more independent work skills. Students will have 2-3 days of work assigned each week outside of Kingdom Academy Academic.

While grammar, math**, and science will be provided, families will need to purchase a complete set of Notgrass curriculum for each student in these grades that will be used for both Social Studies and Language Arts. Curriculum does not have to be new, but does need to be the correct edition. New curriculum sets vary between $85-$250 dollars. Specific information about required curriculum for each grade will be shared after enrollment.

While some grades may be taken and shared via an online grade book, parents are responsible for assessing and assigning their student’s final grade.

** Seventh grade students will complete Pre-Algebra Part I and Eighth grade students will complete Pre-Algebra Part 2. If your student is ready for Algebra their eighth grade year, they may bring that curriculum (purchased by the family) and utilize our math time as a study hall with support from the classroom teacher. Kingdom Academy recommends Teaching Textbooks math for high school level mathematics.
